Beauty Salon

About Beauty Salon

Beauty Salon was a site-specific installation sponsored by the City of West Hollywood and Walgreen's Corporation.

I was given the 1600 square foot vacant storefront of a former beauty supply store and salon. The former tenant left much of their trash, inventory, display units, etc. As a response to the space, I decided to leave everything as I found it, and sprayed the entire space with white latex paint.

The result was a chaotic yet somber installation of urban decay and abandonment unified by a single color.
